Bogey Hole Iconic Photographs by Sam Hood.

We are so pleased to release two iconic images of the Bogey Hole along the Bathers Way.

Both were taken in 1953 by photographer Sam Hood who captured many locations along the east coast of NSW Australia. As originally a film photonegative (copied from original nitrate photonegative) then digitally scanned for archival purposes, these images retain the texture and markings of the original. We chose a textured print stock to maintain that vintage feel and stay aesthetically true to the era within which they were made.

Both images were discovered during our research of this historic swim spot and are held in the collections of the State Library of New South Wales. Both images are formally titled ‘Bogey Hole’ in the Collection and we have added addendum titles of ‘View’ and ‘To the Horizon’ for our release.

Such a beloved swim spot along the Bathers Way - we hope you enjoy this little slice of history!
